When I sent the message "Achievements of Bolsonaro Government [1]" to The Guardian, with a copy to Dom Phillips, correspondent of the British newspaper in Brazil, he suggested that I send it directly to the newspaper - what I had already done and he did not understand; and mentioned that my suggestion, contained in the message, for Mr. James N. Green to plant potatoes was not clear in English.
Actually, my reference to this character is due to the fact that he was quoted in an article by Dom Phillips in The Guardian comparing the election of Bolsonaro in Brazil with the election of Hitler in Germany.
So, I sent a new message, this time, only to Don Phillips. I transcribe it here.

Dear Mr. Dom Phillips,
I appreciated a lot the subtlety of the remark about the British perception of "potato farming". I agree that I have placed too much emphasis on Mr Green's irresponsibility.
With regard to "potato farming" in Brazil, we understand that green is associated with agriculture in general, which may include the planting of potatoes. In addition, in this activity the hands are used intensely — for sure, much more intensely than the brain.
I must say that on June 2018, I took my three daughters to spend their 15th anniversary in London. We celebrated at the National Gallery, British Museum, Westminster Abbey and other spectacular sites. Of course, at Westminster, we have witnessed the use of all human talent by the British for almost two millennia. We stopped with special reverence at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier — placed in the environment of kings and princes, scholars and scientists, heroes and benefactors of Humanity. We stopped in front of Stephen Hawking, strategically located between Newton and Darwin — and we could admire the appreciation and homage to teachers and scientists. With unsurpassed joy, my family and especially the teenagers have found a profusion of brains employed in favour of the building of Western civilization. Of course we’d rather have found Mr. Churchill as well, but we know there are people in Westminster he did not like. Fortunately, he was outside, and in all places and minds, including St Martin’s Church.
So when Mr. Green compares the situation of Brazil with that of Nazi Germany, when he suggests the comparison of Bolsonaro with a certain Adolph that has caused so many ills to the British, clearly this is unacceptable to the Brazilians. Mr. Green does not use his brain properly. Hence, we can conclude that he can use his hands very well for anything, but he can never use the brain well enough to evaluate allied (with an emphasis on fighting Adolph's forces in Italy). I believe that the British can not understand the statement related to "potato farming", but surely they can agree with the essence of my thinking, based on freedom, truth, courage and ethics — paradigms so valuable to the British.
By the way, earlier, I appreciated your attitude when I discovered that my statements in a telephone interview were faithfully reproduced in your articles published in The Guardian on October 5 and 29, 2018.

Quando enviei a mensagem "Conquistas do governo Bolsonaro [1]" ao The Guardian, com uma cópia para Dom Phillips, correspondente do jornal britânico no Brasil, ele sugeriu que eu a enviasse diretamente para o jornal - o que já havia feito e ele não entendeu; e mencionei que minha sugestão, contida na mensagem, para o Sr. James N. Green plantar batatas não era clara em inglês.
Na verdade, minha referência a esse personagem se deve ao fato de ele ter sido citado em um artigo de Dom Phillips no The Guardian comparando a eleição de Bolsonaro no Brasil com a eleição de Hitler na Alemanha.
Então, enviei uma nova mensagem, desta vez, apenas para Don Phillips. Eu transcrevo aqui.

Apreciei muito a sutileza da observação sobre a ausência de percepção britânica do “cultivo de batatas”. Entendo que atribuí muita ênfase à irresponsabilidade do Sr. Green.
Anteriormente, apreciei sua atitude quando verifiquei que minhas declarações em entrevista telefônica foram reproduzidas com fidelidade em seus artigos publicados em The Guardian em 5 e 29 de outubro de 2018.
Em relação ao “cultivo de batatas” no Brasil, entendemos que o verde se associa com a agricultura em geral, o que pode incluir o plantio de batatas. Ademais, nessa atividade utiliza-se as mãos de forma intensa. Com certeza, com muito mais intensidade do que se usa o cérebro.
Devo afirmar que em junho de 2018, levei minhas três filhas para passar o aniversário de 15 anos em Londres. Com alegria inexcedível, celebramos no National Gallery, no British Museum, na Westminster Abey e em outros locais espetaculares. Claro, em Westminster, testemunhamos a utilização de todo o talento humano pelos britânicos durante quase dois milênios. Paramos com especial reverência no Túmulo do Soldado Desconhecido — colocado no ambiente onde se encontravam reis e príncipes, scholars e cientistas, heróis e benfeitores da Humanidade. Paramos diante de Stephen Hawking, estrategicamente localizado entre Newton e Darwin — e pudemos admirar a valorização dos professores e cientistas. Minha família e notadamente as adolescentes verificaram uma profusão de cérebros usados em favor da construção da civilização Ocidental.
Então, quando o Sr. Green compara a situação do Brasil com a da Alemanha nazista, quando ele sugere a comparação do Bolsonaro com um certo Adolfo que tantos males causou aos britânicos, claramente, isso é inaceitável para os brasileiros. Ele não usa adequadamente o cérebro. Daí, podemos concluir que ele pode utilizar muito bem as mãos para qualquer coisa, porém jamais pode utilizar bem o cérebro para avaliar povos parceiros (com ênfase na luta contra as forças do Adolfo). Creio que os britânicos podem ignorar o “cultivo de batatas”, mas não podem discordar da essência de meu pensamento.
A propósito, anteriormente, apreciei sua atitude quando descobri que minhas declarações em uma entrevista por telefone foram fielmente reproduzidas em seus artigos publicados no The Guardian em 5 e 29 de outubro de 2018.
