In the same way as I did with essays in Portuguese, I am pleased to share on this blog the English texts written by my dear daughter Cecília. She wrote them during the time she studied English at Casa Thomas Jefferson.

One of the most useful technological apparatuses created in centuries is the cell phone. It has many things that make our life easier. An example is when you want to research for something on the internet you can go to the google and make it. They are very important in our life. We use a cell phone to send messages by WhatsApp, to send an e-mail messages, to call a friend, etc.
One disadvantage is the addiction, we can´t survive if we don´t have a cell phone. You have to pay attention when you use the cell phone. Some people use the cell phone when they are driving, and this is very dangerous. You can crash your car and get hurt.
So, using a cell phone is very cool, and you should carefully consider what you are going to do with it. Some actions may be very dangerous for you.

Once upon a time, a girl who was studying in the beautiful school Leonardo da Vinci wanted to be an actress when she grew up.
The school gave her this opportunity and she created a play on Star Wars, and she would play princess Leia. She became very happy because she loves Star Wars movies. The girl trained her presentation during a week; she decorated the text, and she was ready to interpret her character.
The play was a success, and everyone liked the girl’s performance. And in the future, she became one of the most famous actresses of the world.
How to have more energy

Hi Carl, my name is Cecília. I will help you how you can have more energy during day. I hope I can help you with this problem. Ok, let´s start.
When you wake up, wash your face with water, because it helps you stay awake. You should have breakfast, lunch and dinner at the right time, so your body will be confortable. If you feel tired throughout the day, take an energetic drink and take it when you feel tired as well.
Eat protein-rich foods like egg, meat, fish, chicken, yoghurt and choose nutrient-rich foods such as oatmeal or fresh fruits. Remember you should eat red meat only twice a week, because, you know, red meat in excess is not good for the cardiovascular system. These foods will give you the energy that the body needs to stay awake and active during the day. Be sure to avoid alcoholic drinks because you are only fifteen years old and as you know they are forbidden for people under eighteen.
And if you follow these steps correctly I'm sure you'll be able to stay awake during the day.

About the history of the city
Rio de Janeiro is the most beautiful city in Brazil. It attracts thousands of tourists every year. Rio de Janeiro was the second capital city of Brazil.
Places that you can visit there
Rio de Janeiro has many beautiful places to visit. One example is Christ the Redeemer. From this marvelous statue you can see the whole city. It’s an amazing view. If you like to swim or surf you are going to like the beaches; and one of the most popular is the Ipanema beach.
If you like art you should go to the Museum of Tomorrow which is located in the earlier port region, that is now modernized. If you visit it, you would also learn a little bit more about Rio de Janeiro. This museum has a beautiful view of the Guanabara Bay. You can go to the Museum of Modern Art, which is situated near the Santos Dumont Airport.
About music in Rio de Janeiro
Concerning music, Rio de Janeiro has several different musical styles, but the type of music people mostly listen to, is “bossa nova”. The most famous carioca song above all times is “Garota de Ipanema”, which was composed by Tom Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes in 1962.
Endless Energy

Today I am here to talk about renewable energy and give some examples that you can do in your home.
But first I will talk about an interesting text, that I read in my book. This text is about endless energy, and what caught my attention, was a topic that it is now possible to make energy from human movement, and that its fantastic!
And I agree with the text, that is an amazing idea, because imagine, you are walking on the street and make energy at the same time, only with your steps.
But, it can have some disadvantages, it is too expensive and it needs a lot of people to do this. And an advantage it is you don´t need to do much effort to make energy.
Now I will give to you some examples that you can do in your home: You can put a solar collector plate, to heat the water of your shower or your swimming pool and you can use the water to make energy to, etc.
I hope you like my text and take note of my hints about saving energy.

The age of my friend and their physical characteristics
First, my friend Amanda is 14 years old. She is my best friend. She is short, she is only 5 feet and 1,5 inches tall. She is very beautiful. Amanda has blonde, long and curly hair.
What she like to do and why Amanda has to win this award
Amanda likes music and plays 9 musical instruments. She is good student, and her favorite subject is math. In her free time, she likes to watch series on Netflix, like Riverdale et ‘La casa de papel’. At school Amanda likes to play sports a lot and her favorite one is volleyball. When she lived in Brasília and studied at Leonardo da Vinci, we stay together in almost all recesses and even living in other town, despite this we keep in touch. And finally she deserves this award because she is a good friend.
